Today is a very special day, my crafty friends: the wonderful Jenn Shurkus is celebrating 10 years as a blogger in our crafting community! And since this is a pretty huge milestone, it warrants a party — and that means lots of awesome inspiration and giveaways for you! Read on to find out more!
Each Tuesday in July, another crafter will join into the celebration to give you more inspiration and if you want to win one of the fabulous prizes, all you need to do is to CASE one of Jenn’s cards. You have until August 4th to participate and the winners will be announced August 7th.
To help Jenn celebrate, I am also CASEing one of her cards – and let me tell you, it was really difficult to settle on just one. As you might imagine, Jenn has so many amazing cards it’s really hard to pick one out. In the end, I settled on this pretty Thanksgiving themed card:
Since Jenn is amazing at combining both clean and simple styles with mixed-media art I tried to do the same with my card. Granted, I’m very timid when it comes to mixed-media, but I feel that using distress inks should at least count as a step in the right direction 🙂
As you can see, I was strongly inspired by the orange color in the original card and by the Thanksgiving theme. For coloring, I used a combination of Prismacolor, Polychromos, and Spectrum Noir pencils on this stamp from Purple Onion Design.
Now it’s your turn to help Jenn to celebrate her anniversary: pick any card from her blog (or use her Flickr or Pinterest streams for inspiration) and link up your creation for a chance to win one of these fabulous prices:
Congratulations once more to Jenn and a huge “thank you” for the amazing work she has done for the crafting community in the past years!
