Hi crafters! I don’t know how the weather is wherever you are, but I’m in Germany and Europe has been struck by a heat wave in the past weeks. We have been approaching temperatures of 40°C (that’s about 104°F). For me personally, that’s way too hot, but the weather gods don’t care and for this Friday, they are threatening us with 39°C again.
For that reason, I was happy to dig out my Christmas stamps for the current challenge over at that Make The Day Special Stamp Store blog and pretend that it was all frosty and grisly cold outside. The challenge asks you to use your Christmas stamps for a non-Christmas themed card.
I used one of my all-time favorite stamp and die sets by Wplus9 called Silver Bells. A friend of mine asked me for a wedding card and I thought that the bells would be perfect for wedding bells.
I kept the color scheme rather simple and opted to go with a lot of metallic colors like gold and silver to match the wedding theme. I apologize for using a German sentiment stamp, but since this is for a German couple, I really could not use something in English 🙂
For a little additional interest, I grabbed some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and inset them with little seed beads, also by Pretty Pink Posh.
As you can see, it’s really easy to turn Christmas stamps into something that is not related to the holidays at all. I really hope you participate in the challenge — we don’t have many participants just yet, which means your chances of winning a gift certificate are really great!
I’m sending this card off to the Creative Fridays challenge which asks us to “Use Your Dies”, which I did. So, there 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon!
