Hello crafters, it’s the 15th of the month and that means half of the month has already passed. Why is that bad? Because that leaves you only half a month to participate in the challenge over at the Make The Day Special Stamp Store blog. As always, you can win a gift certificate to spend at the store.
This month, we have a fun color challenge. You can choose from three different color combination and pick one that goes best with whatever project you have in mind.
I went with the first image; for some reason, the blue and red just spoke to me, but in a completely different way from the sample image.
This actually took some brainpower on my part to figure out. Mainly because I had to plan ahead the die cutting and where the colors would go. It all looks good in my mind, but when it comes to actually making it, I had to stop and think 🙂
I diecut the big code first, and then I diecut and the smaller cloud. That made sure that it still looks like the smaller cloud is somewhat tucked underneath the bigger cloud. I then cut down a small piece of watercolor card stock and sponged it with different distress inks. After that was done, I used some Perfect Pearls, mixed them with water, and applied them generously across the water color paper. That gave the entire sky a nice shimmery look. You can’t see a lot of it, but what you can see sparkles really nicely in real life.
I then grabbed some regular red foil, nothing special, and glued it to white paper and diecut two hearts from it. Before I mounted everything onto the cart base, I ran it through my diecutting machine and embossed a pattern onto it with a Lil’ Inkers embossing plate. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations over at our challenge. Have a wonderful day!
