Welcome back, crafters! And yes, your eyes do not deceive you, I have yet another Easter card here on my blog for you (but with a video as well!) I’m using the adorable Gerda Steiner “Hello Spring” clear stamp set, which can be used for easter cards but also for regular cards all year long. I wanted to do something cute and special:
Granted, my main motivation for this faux window card was the fact that the Wplus9 Pinked Square dies were residing in my “never used” basket for so long already it got a little embarrassing. So I tweaked the idea in my head for so long until I finally made it work. I was actually contemplating distressing the borders of the inlaid squares a bit to add more contrast, but it would not have fit with the overall clean style of the card.
All images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo black, which is one of the best inks to use when coloring with Copics because it doesn’t smear. Then I went to town with my markers, just having a blast creating this fun spring like scene. I also did a bit of masking, as you can see in the video, to tuck the eggs behind the grass and the bunny in front of it.
I wish I would have given myself about 1 inch more of the ribbon, that would have spared me seven minutes of fiddling with it … just shows that trying to “save” supplies doesn’t really pay off. I was lucky the bow worked out in the end. I kept the card clean and simply overall so the colored images would be the stars of the show.
Hope you liked the video! Thanks for stopping by, your comments put a smile on my face.
