Hey crafters, are you prepping for easter yet? Since a lot of my cards have to cross the pond in time to be hidden away in an easter basket, I got an early start. And the digi images of Gerda Steiner Designs are perfect for creating sweet cards that are sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face. For today’s card, I choose this cute bunny (who doesn’t look like he intends to share his carrot with anyone anytime soon … could be me 😉 ).
I actually wanted to watercolor him, but completely forgot and printed him on Neenah solar white. So, Copics it was! But no matter, I had fun trying out my yellows, oranges, and light reds to create the perfect carrot-color. Even though I hadn’t intended to originally, I colored the entire background a light blue for the sky, then die cut the image with my Pretty Pink Posh tag die. I had been longing to do a striped background for ages, so I masked of parts of the card and then applied my Distress Ink with a mini ink blender.
To help the colored image stand out a bit better from the background, I die cut a piece of vellum and glued it to the back of my tag, then foam mounted that combo onto the card itself. Some gems and the little Easter surprise was done.
I’m sending this card off to the following challenges: Addicted To Stamps and More “Make Your Mark”; Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes”; MarkerPop which has an “Easter” theme; and Showcase Your Style which has an adorable cute inspiration image of cute critters that just fit with my little bunny.
I hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for stopping by, your comments make my day!
