So, I’ve discovered a new stamp company. Well, new to me. And truth be told, it got kind of shoved in my face by the wonderful Sonja of The Art of Stamping and I’m forever grateful to her for that (my bank account, not so much).
The company is Purple Onion Design, and specifically the stamps by Stacey Yacula. They are to swoooooooooon for. Michele of Purple Onion Design is an angel and her service is amazing. I finally got around to play some with my new stamps (and more are on their way to me) and here’s a happy one layer non-christmas card (I really want to stop making christmas stuff by now).
I used Simon Says Stamp Ultra Heavy card stock since I colored the trees with Copic markers, but wanted to keep the card CAS. I stamped the trees, then masked them off with masking paper, and distressed the background. The area was masked off to get those crisp lines.
The trees and the hill are one stamp by Purple Onion Design, the butterflies are from a new Altenew Set that has quickly become of of my favs by that company, too.
I also used some stamps from the new Simon Says Stamp December kit and the Ranger Liquid Platinum. I love this kit because you can use it all year round, not just for christmas. I stamped the circular sentiment onto vellum, heat embossed it and then fuzzy cut it. Not sure if you can see it, but you can actually see the sky behind it peek through the letters.
Thanks for stopping by and get ready for an onslaught of cards with Purple Onion Design stamps because … well, they are amazing 🙂 PS: If you like them, too: they are having a sale until Dec 10, 2014, and that takes 25% off of your order!!
I’m sending this card off to the Less Is More #200 challenge which is aptly themed “Celebrations” – 200 challenges, wow! And this challenge really keeps me on my toes because I usually go over board with the “more” part and don’t stay with the “less” part. I hope I got it somewhat right this time around 🙂
