If you are a regular reader on my blog (and you are, right? If not, go and subscribe right now!), you might have seen that I’m currently obsessed with the Wplus9 Papel Picado stamp set. It’s a pattern set, which makes it perfectly adaptable to any occasion.
Today, for my post over on the Make the Day Special Stamp Store blog, I’m bringing you a little international flair – that sounds amazing, right? Well, let me deflate any expectations: the “ international” simply refers to some German stamps 😀 I used a Wplus9 label die to create a few gift tags:
- I die cut the basic shape threet times from each color: red, white, and kraft card stock. (I messed up a few tags, that’s why I cut more shapes than you see.)
- I adhered a white and red, and then a white and kraft label with removable tape and cut them apart with my guillotine. The reason I adhered them together was so the shapes would be cut apart exactly the same.
- I used one kraft, one red, and one white label as a base, and then glued the cut apart parts on top of it so I got the neat mix and match of colors.
On each tag, I used the Papel Picado stamp set to create a pattern on the tags. I wanted to go with a “scandinavian” style, but of course that was one of the tags that I messed up. But by using christmassy colors like red, gold, and green, you can create the impression of festiveness.
Since the holidays are approaching at an alarming rate and I actually need to get my shopping and wrapping done before flying home for the big day, I used a few German stamps on my tags next to a super cute one from Neat and Tangled. Now, if I could just find a present for my dad (my mom at least knows what she wants), I’ll be able to actually use one of those tags come Christmas.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that the days leading up to christmas are not hectic but joyful and merry and for you 🙂
I’m sending those tags off to the following challenges as well: Merry Monday #138 Gold, Silver and a color of our choice (I’m sending the red tag, so my color choice is red); Simon Says Bling it On with my half white – half kraft tag; and Challenge Up Your Life #4 Christmas without Christmas stamps.
