Judging solely by my Instagram feed, where I follow crafters from all over the world, we are all pet lovers. Specifically cat lovers. Like me. My crazy fur ball is now ten years old, but she has the mindset of a puppy and I don’t think she has gotten any smarter with age. But I love her … just not when she’s trying to “help” with the twine when I’m crafting or anything else that resembles a string.
So, when I saw this digi stamp by Gerda Steiner Designs I laughed out loud. This is so my kitty.
I actually would have loved to have a one layer card here and just decorate the space around the kitty, but since I don’t have a Copic friendly printer at home, I’m limited to when I’m at the office and I only had the kitty on a piece of paper that wasn’t much bigger than the circle. So I got a bit creative.
With some dies, I cut the red decorative piece on the bottom, then embossed my sentiment on it. Since christmas means festive, and that equals sparkle, I grabbed a piece of gold glitter paper and mounted the red card stock on top of it. That also matched the golden border around the die cut kitty circle. Putting this together took no time at all.
Here’s a close up of my coloring – photos always tend to exaggerate the contrast. In real life, the blending of the fur is much smoother and you don’t have very pronounced edges going from dark to light.
I hope you enjoyed the card and you’ll give this adorable kitty a try. She sure deserves your ink 🙂
