Just One More Card

Discovering the world of card making. One Project at a time.

Happy Birthday with Winnie & Walter and Newton’s Nook

May 29, 2014

I recently created a set of 20 birthday invitations for a friend’s mom and that drained all my creative energy; I didn’t even go into my crafting room for almost a week 🙂

Now that my creative juices have finally started flowing again (and thanks to a holiday in Germany) I got to use stamp sets of two super awesome new(ish) companies: Newton’s Nook and Winnie & Walter.

I didn’t even plan on the final result, I only started out with the Femme Frames by Mama Elephant for the outside die cut and some Sizzix Circle shapes for the inside window.

The stamping on the inside of the circle was done with some masking so I could have a few of the flowers behind the birthday presents. All the stamps are from Newton’s Nook set Wagon of Wishes. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold, and the Happy.

I colored the stamps with my Prismacolor pencils – love them, they just make me feel like an artist, even though I suck at coloring 🙂 As an afterthought, I added some liquid pearls, though the next time I’ll probably use a brush to apply it.

I’ll be entering this card into the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.
