Today is the final day to enter the Cure For The Monday Blues challenge and I’ll be also entering my final card – the 6th – from my inspiration series. I’ve also included a video, showing how you can color on kraft card stock with colored pencils and still get very vibrant colors.
Scroll down for some close up photo of the card and tips on how to achieve this effect.
- When working with (white) pigment ink, don’t press your stamp too hard onto your card stock. You will squish the ink to the outer edges or even beyond that and not get a good impression.
- Wait until the pigment ink is dry before coloring on top of it.
- Having the white ink underneath when coloring adds vibrance to the colors, otherwise they will be more muted.
- Use heavy card stock for this technique – the Neenah 80lb wasn’t really heavy enough; I roughed up the paper when I was blending out the colors.
After I had finished the video, I realized that something was missing and I added some tiny shiny dots with some Liquid Pearls. Not enough to overwhelm the card but just enough to give it the extra touch.
