Continuing with my homework for Online Card Classes. This time, I tried the iron-off embossing technique demoed by Jennifer McGuire. In between, some watercolor fun took place. I’ve got rainbow colors on the inside and outside, so, in the words of one of my favorite actors (Nathan Fillion): “Double Rainbow!”
The white areas in-between the zig zag lines were originally embossed with white embossing powder. It helped me with the water coloring, keeping the lines sharp. The white part in the middle was originally makes off, but I messed up the stamping, so I die cut it out and then created an inlay with much better stamping 😉
I also added some gold spraying and splits to give the card some shimmer. The center part was, at that time, still masked off because I wanted the middle shape to have some more defined edges.
And now for the double rainbow:
I stamped the sentiment on the inside with the same rainbow colors, but where I was using Distress Ink on the outside to color, while on the inside I used Hero Arts Shadow Inks. I didn’t do anything fancy, simply inked up the stamp in one go 🙂
I’ll be entering this card in the following challenges: Addicted to Stamps Challenge #86 “Anything Goes”; Virginia’s View Challenge “Stamped Cards with Water-coloring”; Friday Mashup #151 – “Rainbows or Rainbow Colors”; Less is More Week #163 “Masking or Stenciling”.
