I was on a roll yesterday and created this card on a whim. I wanted something super clean and simple and the new Lawn Fawn stamp set caught my eye. I had to use the tiny birds.
The birds, the “ground”, and the sentiment were all stamped with Versafine black ink. It works great with Prisma pencils and the blending solution which is used to work the pencil colors.
I wanted each bird to be extra sparkly, so I first colored their back ends (really 😉 ) with Wink of Stella Markers (not the brush pens) in blue, pink, and yellow. Then I used the Prisma pencils to add some more color and blended it out so you have a nice gradient on each bird.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp “Sketchy Greetings” and I wanted something super simple, so it fit perfectly. I also wanted to “ground” the card and add elegance to it. I used a My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle die, which I embossed into the card stock. I then traced the outline above the piercing in my scoreboard to deepen the lines. I think it adds that tiny bit of extra that makes the card complete.
I’m entering this card into the Lawnscaping #78 challenge “Clean and simple” (doesn’t get much cleaner or simpler, I think), and the Fusion Card Challenge #6 where my inspiration was clearly the sketch.
And since wienerhoneymooners implored me to do so via the comments, I’ll take my chances and enter this card into the current CASology challenge #87 “Blush” as well. Didn’t think that my tiny pink bird would be qualification enough, but hey, one can hope, right? 🙂
