Sometimes, I do my best work when I don’t even intend to 😉 This was the case here: I was frustrated about having wasted three hours, and four pieces of Bazzill Marshmallow card stock. The mojo simply hadn’t kicked in for me two nights ago.
I already wanted to quit crafting for the night, but then spontaneously grabbed my Wplus9 “More Fresh Cuts” stamp and die set and got to work.
I had seen a beautiful card on the Make The Day Special blog and I just had to try to re-create the fake brick wall with embossing paste, too. So. much. fun.
I used Distress Ink and a dauber to gently put on some ink on the embossing paste once it was pretty dry. I love the effect that is the result.
The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed in white; the stamp is from CAS-ual Fridays. I used some distress ink to make it stand out more against the wood background. I also used the distress ink around the border of the die cut and around the border of the actual card so the eye would be drawn in more towards the center (and yes, I could cover up some oopsies this way, too).
The flowers are glued or 3-d mounted on the center piece, which is 3-d mounted on the embossed bricks with some twine in-between to add dimension. Some Wink of Stella clear gives the flowers a beautiful shine without drawing too much attention.
