I couldn’t resist and had to make another card for my Online Card Classes course “Stenciled”. Watching Jennifer McGuire go wild with colors on a stencil gave an inspiration for the Simon Says Stamp snowfall stencil and a perfect solution for the current CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #61.
I first used all my bright Hero Arts shadow inks with little cut up sponges on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock. I intentionally made a gradient that goes from dark to light. Then I realized how helpful one of those photo frame dies would be, but since I don’t have one, I used a crafters knife to cut out the front manually.
The center-piece is from Wplus9’s “Embroidered Bouquet” stamp set which is as lovely in real life as I had hoped it would be. Big kudos to Tara from Make the Day Special in the UK for shipping my huge order so quickly so I could play with it already.
I stamped the flower in Hero Arts Granite ink, but before I put the stamp to the paper, I used a baby wipe to clean off the large flowers. Aftwards I used some of the single stamps with brighter colors to fill that in again and then 3-d mounted the panel onto the card base.
I intentionally used mostly grey on the flower itself because the stenciled dots already have lots of color. If I would have put even more color on the flower itself, the card would have become chaotic.
The sentiment is from Wplus9 as well and is called “Strictly Sentiments 1”. Beautiful font that goes so well with the delicate flower stamp.
Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by!
