The current Muse Challenge #51 has two cards to be used as inspiration. I picked the original card by Jackie Rockwell for my inspiration and here’s my take on it:

|This is the card I used for inspiration|
I was fascinated by the three cut outs for the hearts in the original card. I decided to go with a Clearly Besotted stamp and die set called Happy Everything – which I find totally fitting since it’s Muse’s 1st anniversary! Happy anniversary!
I die cut the shape of the butterfly, then stamped the butterfly inside the cutout with Soft Sand Hero Arts ink and traced the shape with my Wink of Stella Glitter Pens. I learned this trick from Jennifer McGuire.

I used a silver pen to hand draw the flower shapes around the butterfly cut out. It just looked to empty otherwise and I was itching to put my Zentangling practice to use.
Since the original card had a dark background with a pattern but I couldn’t find a paper I liked that matched, I created my own. The dark card stock is from Bazzill and I used a Memory Box stencil and white pigment ink to create the pattern in the background.
I then used a smaller butterfly stamp and Versamark again and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Just to add some interest.
The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder. The stamp is from Ali Edwards.
