Finally, finally, FINALLY I got around to put my newly acquired Zentangle skills to use. Crafty Card Makers have a Black & White challenge #108 and Just Add Ink #199 has a circle sketch that fit right with what I had in mind.
I hand-drew three flowers on some basic white card stock with black Pigma Micron pens. I used different patterns to give each flower its own character. With some pencil I added shadow to create dimension.
To focus the attention on the flowers themselves I drew a wiggly border around the white card piece. I colored four white pearls with black marker to make them fit with the rest of the card. The sentiment was stamped with Wplus9’s “Fanciful Feathers” stamp set and Versafine black ink.
The black card base was stamped with Unity’s “Blossom Stackers” in Versamark, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I just felt that it needed some additional, but very subtle interest. The white piece was 3-d mounted on the black card base.
Here’s another closeup of the Zentangle I drew:
Big kudos once more to Make the Day Special from the UK for stocking these awesome brands of stamps and getting them to be so quickly 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Update 3 February, 2014: I don’t believe it, I won! Thanks to the gals at Crafty Cardmakers and more for picking my card!
