My very first challenge! I’m so excited to participate in the AEI♥U Challenge (Avery Elle August Challenge). Hopefully I’m doing this right.
The sketch that is the starting point for the challenge is the following:
To my delight, I actually do have an Avery Elle Stamp set (not quite so easy to get here in Germany) so I grabbed All Squared Up and got started.
I especially love that I can build up the patterns, combine different stamps and Hero Arts Shadow Ink colors. That was so much fun!
To add some interest to the otherwise flat card, I covered some of the patterns with clear Stickles, some with Glossy Accents. The sentiment was stamped with Hero Arts Shadow Ink onto white card stock, cut out, and placed onto another circle cut from blue card stock (which was part of a Martha Stewart packaging once). The dashed outline was made with a Signo White Pigment Pen.
The butterfly was cut with some Sizzix dies which were included in my Big Shot starter kit. I covered the white card stock with an adhesive sheet, poured Elizabeth Craft Micro Fine Glitter over it and then used three Copic Markers to color the clear glitter.
I lined the inside of the card with some white card stock and used Distress Ink to create the butterfly. The shape was made possible by using the negative of the die cut from the butterfly on the front.
I used the Signo Pen again for the subtle white dashed outline. And that was it. A lot of fun to use with the template from Avery Elle and the stamp set. Looking forward to many more challenges and hopefully to many more Avery Elle Stamp sets (got mine from Stempelküche).
